Tufnol cleats have disappeared from even the classic-orientated chandlers and boat jumbles. I have posted on the Wanted forum in search of a small (c. 4 inch) cleat. I am short of one cleat for the burgee hoist. All the other mast cleats are tufnol on a varnished mast so I am reluctant to fit an odd one. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Have you tried Classic Marine at Woodbridge? They have a web site and are very helpfull. If you ring them and they don't have any they might know where you can get them. Paul

I'd be surprised if you couldn't buy solid blocks of Tufnol from a plastics suppliers. You could then shape a cleat for yourself, using the existing ones as patterns. Alteratively, use a hardwood such as jarrah or mahogany and make one from that. T'would be a half-hour well spent.

I might have a spare on board. I'm on the boat this weekend. If I have one I'll let you know. All of my cleats, except those on my ali mast are tufnol.

Regards.

Peter.

Many thanks, before I attack a solid tufnol block, I will wait to see if you have one to spare!
