I recently had to buy a replacement Halogen 12v 10watt ceiling bulb from my local chandlery, it seemed a bit dear at £7.70, but I did. Last week I was passing a large lighting shop in Southampton and on display they had the largest mess I have ever seen with about 50 Halogen bulbs on the end of silver stalks, it was a fortune. I went in and asked how much the bulbs were, the assistant said £2.50 so I bought 3.
They look identical, but are they? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Yes! I always reckoned that B&Q were the best chandlery around here. e.g. little plastic clips to fix things to pushpits £2.50 - identical plastic pipe clips, blister pack of 10 for £1.45 (a year or two back)

Get your halogens from here!

£6.99 for 10 incl VAT and P&P from

http://www.yourwelcome.co.uk/acatalog/Low_Voltage.html

I've just bought 20 and they are fine. I also bought some from Trago Mills last year for 29p each but one failed this year after only a few days - don't know if that is 'one of those things' or indicative of variable quality. Anyway, 'yourwelcome' are a treat to do busineess with - the most straightforward mail order people I've ever dealt with. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
