Had a fantastic trip round from Southampton with the new boat. What weather. Been boating for 20+ years and never seen it so calm.
Boat ran like a dream, consumed vast quantities of diesel and I didn't give a ****!!
People may make gybes about Brooms and net curtains but they don't 'alf stick 'em together well. This is my 3rd one and all have been between 5 and 10 years old, but you would never know.
Somewhere around Chertsey I kept coming across this old bloke with a burgee showing a drunken mouse. Boat called Illigitamacy or Illegal or something similar. Dutch steel?
Anyone know who it might be?
Looked even older than Old Father Thames himself (Byron).
Boat now in Thames & Kennet for a month or so, following a wash and scrub up at UTMYC.

Legacy? A respected member of Bray Cruiser Club.

I hope you remembered to lift your fenders......

Thanks.

... for all the responses.
In order of response;
1. No. Name will remain as Amadeus, but + M, as there are already 3 Amadeux on the Thames. A8.
2. Maybe, but possibly not yet old enough to be elligible?!!
3. "Respected"? Fenders are always lifted between locks and will remain until crew too bolshy! I had a sprightly 70 year old and a sailor as crew on this occasion, so no problem.
4. Only sensible people sell before buying. The Four Ferretts will be on the market shortly. All (sensible) offers, considered. One of 2 factory built Freeman 33's that can cruise Lechlade to London and in amazing condition.
5. Came through Teddington late Saturday afternoon. Lock keeper was looking a little fraught with both locks on the go at the same time. I thought only women could multi task!!
