Tube joining question

This is a part of the solar panel holder I have installed at the stern (basically a single tube arch with two angled supports, and also affixed to the pushpit):

Everything else on the holder uses Makefast fittings, but I can't find anything more substantial than the clamp I have used here. It is ok and will do, but the contact between the two tubes is quite small. I haven't been able to find any fittings similar to, say, scaffold fixings in 1" or ss. I could make something to increase the contact in plastic or wood, of course, but wonder if there any suggestions?

The idea is that the structure is demountable if required.

Yes, I know that site. They have hinged T-pieces and I suppose two could be used for each join (with a short length of tube between them) but that would cost £100 for the four ... I am too tight to take up that suggestion.

Hydraulic hose clamps, they are in two halves, dismantle and rotate the halves, place back to back.

Yes, possible - "10304 - Pulpit connection". Seems to be 250 Danish Krone. Not sure what that is in real money. £30?
