I'm about to order a 3ft tube heater for the boat and can see that heaters of that size come in two wattages: 135w and 180w. The 135w versions are billed as energy savers, but does anyone know if they provide the same heat output?

There's a clue in their wattages....

I know - which is why I ask really. By calling it an energy saver, it kind of implies that you're getting the same for less by use of a clever trick (marketing bull aside). What's the point of a 3ft energy saver if the heat output is only slightly more than a 2ft standard at 120w?

It appeals to folk who know no better.

For real enegy saving how about one of these

...... Click picture for details

Only 45 watts so will cost only a 1/3 as much to run as the 135 watt one or a 1/4 as much as the 180 watt one.

If your ordering one may I suggest you search out your local electrical factors first.
Have seen these heaters at rip-off prices at swindleries and the high street.
