Excellent thanks, these are a third of the price in the chandlers (hey ho, what's new) and there is a choice between redring and Philips. Boat is 10m so a 3fter should do it. No TLC branches near us but Newey & Eyre do them.

Mine were brought from someone who used them on a Fairline Mirage 29ft. 2 in cabon, 2 in engine bay (twin Volvo 145A's). They are 120 watts & 3ft each and he had a thermostat set to around 6C on each pair.
I've also acquired a dehumidifier to put in the cabin, which everyone tells me to run on a timeswitch for a couple of hours a day.

I installed two in my engine room, 1 either side of the engine, 2 x 120 watt. Used to have one in the cabin, but removed it - make sure they have a grid type cover - they get very hot and will burn you badly. I also put a notice in engine room as these are uncovered.

As regards brackets the shortest ones are only about a fiver and I believe all the same dia. buy a couple of little ones and nick the brackets!
You've found the same as me, that their not meant to be trodden on!
