A few years ago the Shaftesbury Society pulled the plug on their TS 'Arethusa', a 72 ft wooden ketch very similar to the OYC Ocean 72s, and a regualr participant in Tall Ships etc. She remained ashore at Universal in Hamble, and last time I saw her she was being refitted.

Does anyone know where she is, and what she is doing nowadays?

I hope that this is still relevant, but I came across your post regarding the sail training ketch 'Arethusa' by accident and feel compelled to respond. The old gal is still doing the same job but these days she belongs to the Meridian Sailing Trust and is based in Portsmouth. She has been re-named 'Bulldog Trust' and is looking very fit and healthy! Hope this helps.

The old Arethusa that Shaftsbury homes had on the Medway, is currently in New York with the name replaced by her original "Peking". I spent a week on her with the Sea Scouts around 1958.
