Hi, I'm a first time user of the forum. Last week I had to remove the navigation light from the pulpit of my boat, so started by undoing the long thin bolt that holds glass cover onto the light. I realise now I didn't have to take it right out of the glass, but the next thing I knew it had fallen off the pontoon into the water!!
I don't really want to spend nearly £70 for a new light just to replace the bolt. I would be grateful for any suggestions. The bolt is about 3inches long with a nut that sits in a recess at the back of the light.

Yes I did think about the studding as an option, but wasn't sure about the size

If you still have the nut you will be able to determine the thread size from that.

I have some old series 25 lamps but the screws in those will be shorter!

You can still get replacement lenses from Aqua Signal, but beware - they are so expensive that it's almost cheaper to get a complete new lamp!

Having had to replace my bicolour after an unfortunate encounter with a Crinan Canal gate I now have an almost-new second hand one from eBay as a source of parts. It's worth looking out, OP, as they come up from time to time.
