hi im a newbie, we are trying to sell our house to buy a princess 41, but our local marina (swansea) will allow us to more there but can only live on her for 6 months out of 12, this strikes me as crazy, can anyone tell me how to find moorings in my area that we can live in full time, also any advice in gereral would be grate too, many thanks

Just dont tell them you are going to be there all the time. Do you work? if so then you wont be there all the time!

the trouble is we would be there every night and they would notice, surely we cant be the only people that want to live full time on a boat. we didnt realise they could tell you how long you could spend on your own boat.

Just replied to you prev thread - Remembered I knew someone who lived aboad at Swansea without a problem, he was one of the lockeepers! The place would not be my first choice unless you are real 'city people'. How close to tenby do you have to be?

we dont have to be neer tenby we need to stay in the swansea area because of schools. would they chuck us out if they found us living there full time?

If you have a quiet word with the marina manager and tell him you don't hang washing out, don't have pets or kids and don't play loud music they will probably tip you the wink.

Works for us.

Can't you get on the SYSAC marina?
If Bugsy is still the mooring/marina officer in the club, he should be able to tell you what you can/can't get away with.
If not then just just keep going west, Neyland maybe, Milford Haven, Aberystwyth (where we are). We aren't living aboard yet (we go full time around Feb/Mar), but the Marina know of our intentions are helping us make it possible. Also there a number people who live aboard no one seems to mind.

Is the marina going ahead in Fishgaurd, thats also an option.
