I have a leaky shaft seal and I need a replacement. The unit is branded BT Marine and i just need the internal seal which has dimensions 63 x 40 x10 mm. They're not available in Turkiye. Can anyone suggest a supplier in UK or Ireland or Germany 17213743224605106942175239080276.jpg20240719_093811.jpg

Polymax.co.uk

In stock.
Minimum order value £10 so you will need to order three.
Thanks. I'm in the dockyard in bright sunshine on my phone and struggling to find 40 x 63 x10 on that website. Could you obliged and post a link please

As per @PCUK post the Polymax website showed the seal I needed in stock. £4 each so I order 3 to comply with their minimum £10 order value and another £44 for expedited shipping via DHL. I placed the order at 11.50 BST and Got an immediate email confirmation. I called a few minutes ago to see if I could determine when it would be despatched. The guy I spoke to couldn't see my order in the system. He spoke to his IT department and the located the order stuck somewhere in limbo in their system [maybe because of the destination address in Türkiye, the guy said]. He asked me for the order details and, lo and behold, it's not readily available on the shelf. He says he can get from another warehouse but that will take approximately a week - so much for "in stock". I cancelled the order and told my mechanic guys in the yard to order an alternative seal including the housing at a cost of £180 approx.

I would suggest getting the verniers out!
That seal has '250' printed on it.
2.50 imperial redneck inches is 63.5 of your filthy french mealy-meters, lots of 2.5 inch seals about.

Looking more closely I agree with you...

2.5" x 1.56" x 0.37" which is 63.5mm x 39.6mm x 9.4mm

This one has the same 250, 156 & 37 size markings as well as TTO, SC & F1242 as the original. It looks identical.

Thanks. So maybe that's why it was leaking, 39.62mm seal on a 40mm shaft. I know the boat had a small grounding incident a few years ago on charter which required the shaft to be removed, and the cutlass bearing to be replaced, so this may have been a question of fit whatever was readily available to get her back on charter. It's definitely not original which was Tidesmarine. Anyway, new one ordered and on the way.
Thanks again to everyone for their help.
