Dunno but the tree huggers are going to blame climate change/global warming/global dimming/reversal of gulf stream/ deforestation of Amazon/melting of ice caps/El Nino reversal/rising sea levels/my car's exhaust/McDonalds/Coca Cola Corp (delete as blind prejudice applies)
I expect its just one of those things that a complex weather system throws up that happens from time to time but nobody noticed in the past and there was'nt a whole bunch environmentalists and TV to tell us about it

They all (well, almost all) go that way eventually, see http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/tracks/2004atl.gif.
The hurricane (oops, sorry, it was only a storm according to Michael Fish) that hit the UK in '87 was the same. travelling NE.
This one seems to be starting just a bit further west than the others, maybe in the Eastern Pacific...

Is it possible that one can start in the eastern Pacific tropics somewhere near Columbia moving westwards and then swing NE...?
Hurrican Alex in 2004 started of the Louisiana coast and just moved NE!

In the Eastern Pacific in 2002, Kenna swung NE across central Mexico and Rick went across southern Mexico in '97 only 50mls north of this one.

But it's way outside hurricane season...!?
Must be an "el Nino" (sorry, not correct spelling but I don't have Spanish characters on my PC) phenomena /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

Oh its always the El nino thingy.

I always thought these Pacific storms either sort of went up the coast a bit and fissed out when they met the cold water current off Mexico/Calif, or sometimes went ashore and weakened.

My point is that I do not recall one wizzing across central america through the Caribs and the attaching itself to the Gulf steam and saying ''hello'' to bermuda.
