I am considering the option of a triple IPS boat. Reliability of maintaining all three engines is my main concern, would I be be better sticking to 2 drives, I have heard reports that should you have a problem with one engine you have to shut the whole lot down and restart from an off position. This thought concerns me - being chucked around in a rough sea with all engines off just to reboot, if anyone knows otherwise please let me know

I would find out a bit more, the way some work is for maneuvering it uses the 2 outer ones and for forward propulsion it uses all 3. So that the joy stick only controls the 2 outer ones and the throttles control all 3. The only on I played with had 3 separate throttles, but you could put a sync button on so you could just use one throttle to control all 3.. The windy blackbird has the 3 , mite be worth giving them a call and asking the question.sorry not more help
