I get awfully bored hearing winges from the rag & stick brigade aswell as from the motor boaters. As is often said, there are pratts in both camps.
Last Thursday I went sailing, courtesy of HSBC, in an extremeley comfortable sailing yacht. We motored from Lymington to Cowes and sailed back. OK, so it did take rather a long time, and I am not converted, but it was very enjoyable, and I can understand why the sailors enjoy sailing.
On Saturday I went on a 75 mph powerboat. Brilliant fun, very noisy, but only for a short time as it goes so b***dy fast!
On Sunday I went on our own motor boat, at a slightly more sedate speed, which I enjoy a lot, and will almost certainly stick with for some time.
All the above were in the Solent. I enjoyed them all. Each has it's place. All will have their pratt content.
Relax and enjoy what you like, and leave the others to enjoy what they like.
