Trip to Ramsgate 13th June

Loads of resturants in under the arches and above on the walk up to the RTYC.
For those prepared to risk going into town, several decent eating places in the back streets and the cherry on the cake a "Waitrose" 🥳 not far away.
"Spoons" also there for the terminally unadverturous and the poverty stricken boat owner .
The restuarant out on the harbour arm has apparently upped its game.
A proper busy commercial harbour with folks arriving and departing from all over .
:)

We did the Italian above the arches on Friday, The restauant on the harbour arm Sat AM, was OK and the A La Turka Sat evening, this one was superb, highly recommended. Mrs found the Waitrose today (y)

I think it's cheaper at our home port of Ipswich, but will check.
Its the cheapest (I think) anywhere other than the CI. It is about £0.98 per litre under 250 or 400lts (cannot recall but there is a limit), so a very significant difference to the £1.30 odd elsewhere.

Correction: just found the receipt !
£0.90 plus 5% VAT for the fuel AND Duty on top (£0.45 plus 5% VAT) on 40% of the fuel. 217.86 litres cost me £254.13= £1.166per litre
Maximum at this rate is 2,300 litres

The fuel barge is an old Esso fuel barge with very good kit to filter and is always fresh.

Use the 2024 waypoints. Don't forget to call up London VTS for permission for the Black Deep 😵‍💫

We only saw one container ship in the Black Deep during the survey. Trundling at 19.something knots.

I haven’t been for a while but Flavours by Kumar in Effingham street used to be superb and the menu online makes me think that it still is. It’s an old pub converted into a curry restaurant, the decor and the furniture were unchanged from the ‘70’s but the kitchen arrangements had a huge window making them visible to all who wanted to check them out.
Main think was the food though, they used to do a main of 4 starters IIRC, excellent value and really interesting food

Went there recently and totally agree with you. Really enjoyed a slightly different Indian restaurant to the norm. Service very good.

Flavours by Kumar is still there and excellent food, for Italian we go to Il Tricolore on Harbour Street, a small place but big on flavour, service and not too expensive.
