Weather did not promise much for our Ad Hoc cruise down to Queenborough for overnight stop with pie and a pint in Admirals Arm micropub.
Up side was no wind and no artic temperatures, about 7 boats gathered sufficient interest to go along.
Fleet included a Broom, couple of Tubby 36, 3 rather neat and well proportioned Princess,s and finally a brave adventurous little steel cruiser.After some adjustment of mooring positions we ended up with two boats on bouys and the rest rafted out on the ATL.
Mustered about 20 folks for the long walk up the newly refurbed walkway to shore and a somewhat boisterous evening in pub, well looked after by Chris and Rachael the landlords.
Rachael is member of the lifeboat crew at Sheerness and mentioned that a "possible" replacement lifeboat might put in an appearance over weekend , this is to replace the "Trent" they have at the moment.
Sure enough it put in an appearance on Sat afternoon.
Sunday morning appeared gloriously bright and sunny and most early risers wandered up to the Queen Phillipa bistro for a excellent breakfast.
Trip back was in warm(ish) sunshine but a North wind ensured you wrapped up warm if on flybridge.
Thanks to Chris (MURV) and Julie doing there best, regards moorings at ATL and for the Admirals Arms for putting on extra staff to look after us and the demo crew from RNLI.
