Trip to Holland

We are looking at a trip to Holland in spring. Any suggestions about places/marinas appreciated. We did Belgium last year. We have 42 foot Fairline airdraft 5 metres. Anywhere between Maas and Ostend, maybe into Rhine. Thanks for any ideas.

We are setting off from the Humber via Lowestoft and Ramsgate then across to Neiuwpoort after that looking for ideas. About a 5 weeks in total.

Head over to Ijmuiden then along the Nord See Canal and rivers Amstel and Ij into the Markemeer.
Head up to the Wadenzee and visit the Dutch Frisian Islands, absolutely lovely.
Will post some recommendations when I get some more time.
I spent 3 weeks on the last cruise and 2 weeks the cruise before.
Fantastic cruising grounds.

Thanks. I will come back with some recommendations tomorrow but I wouldn't miss the south, particularly as you plan to cross to Nieuport. Five weeks gives you time to see plenty!

So many lovely places. Middelburg, Goes, Zierikzee, Willemstad. The islands of the Grevelingmeer. We really enjoyed Dordrecht. The Markenmeer and Ijselmeer abound with lovely places. It won't be busy in the spring but it may not be warm.

Breskens has a large marina with plenty of visitors berths and would make a very gentle cruise from Nieuport.
It's an easy walk to the small town with supermarket and restaurants.
Middleburg is well worth a visit with its marina just off the main canal.
Veere, a little further on is an alternative with some alongside berths but IIRC the town doesn't have much in the way of shops.
We have stopped over several times in Delta Marina, Kortgene through the Grevilingenmeer (sic?). This is a marina with all services and a restaurant. The town has the shops you need but is a little distance away. We used bikes but you could equally easily walk it.
In Willemstad there are three berthing choices - alongside in the town itself where you may well be rafted, Willemstad Marina close by and Jachthaven de Batterij a little further away.
These are just a few of the possibilities. All marinas are listed in Wateralmanak 2 published by ANWB. This gives details of facilities, hours, phone numbers, etc and also lists all bridges and locks together with opening times, clearances, etc. Although written in Dutch it is a really useful book unlike Wateralmanak 1 (rules and regulations) also in Dutch which you are obliged to carry on board.

That's probably enough to be going on with but I have more recommendations for further north. There is so much choice others are bound to be along with many alternatives.

We may be transiting Netherlands on the way to Scandinavia around the same time so you never know our paths may cross.
