It did start sunny :(
Met 3 or four boats coming downstream.Remarkably little junk in the water apart from the odd log/tree branch and the shoreline did not to have anything like its normal rubbish strewn appearance.
Made most welcome at the lock by a suprising number of folks who included a couple of volunteers, one of the duty normal lock staff and gentleman from management ?
All sheltering from the rain under neat little tent/gazebo set up with a table etc to fill in paperwork.
Usual procedure, I told some fibs about my bog and they in return tried to flog me a years river licence.
They had hidden some toy dinosaurs in the bushes which amused the grandkids no end.
Little Caff was doing good business.
Moored outside the Malta Inn along with a couple of narrowboats,.Saved a fortune cos it was shut.
Several small boats came past before turning round and heading back upstream.

Waited for about an hour after HW before going back down, got it right for once ,straight under Aylesford Bridge with about 6 inches clearance.
You could tell it was Flaming June......It rained for the entire journey back and all the wipers kept going for ther entire trip.
Back to boat in morning to hoover up the crumbs, wipe the spills and try to clean to olde girl up a bit.
Now just waiting for that no overnighting to end.
