ah, the Royal Sovereign light of blessed memory.


I took a young lady and an Enterprise out from Eastbourne out and round the old Light Vessel when it was on station. I reckoned without the use of radio from the LV to call the police back onshore. There was a distinctly unpleased reception party waiting for us on our return.

And then, shortly after the Light Tower was installed, a racing yacht called Battleaxe tacked very competitively around the tower. The boat came upright, and the head of the mast smashed through the floor of the tower.

Next week, at the start, Battleaxe wore a group of fenders at the masthead.



Really just to get Bilbo more publicity..... (not that he's abbing the Sovereign, but the more frightening Portland erection.
