I wondered if anyone new if any of the usual list of wood moulding/trim suppliers offer parts large enough to put a trim all the way around a door way?

Its one of the usual shaped doorways.... rounded at top and bottom, about 5 foot high and about 3 feet wide..... and I got round to thinking that I've never seen trim/mouldings of that sort of size...... I guess the only difficult bit wll be the radius for teh top and bottom... regular U shaped trim will do the sides OK.....

Advice/ideas welcomed....

As has been mentioned previously in this forum, you can get softwood and mahogany trim from B & Q which should be OK. Teak is more difficult, Try KJ Howells and Son, Poole.

erm u-shaped wood trim ?

er u-shaped trim would be very small x-section.

The benjenbavs use double helping of L-section trim which works very well, eith butting one up against the other or overlapping.

Re: erm u-shaped wood trim ?

L section would do the trick.... my problem is that I can't curve L section (or U section) round that radius, so would need it pre-formed.....

The door 'hole' doesn't actually have a door in it, so the section need not be as small as you might imagine....

its an aesthetics exercise...
