Yeah, I know I'm a raggie but I'm also a cross dresser with a 23' fishing boat, as well.

I'm going to put TTs on said boat this year and have been casting aorund for thoughts on sizing. Bennett's say a 18x9 or 24x9 for my set up, single 115 hp o/b. The makers of the boat, Orkney, say as small as possible. This answer seems counter-intuitive to me, I'd have guessed the bigger the better, what does the team think?

TIA

I think I'd go for the Volvo QL system, less mechanics, no anodes, faster response.. one each side is enough fr 23ft I d say

i would go for the 18x 9 as 24 inch seems too big i have bennets on my nimbus 2600 and they work very well

Hi Chris i have bennetts on my boat but if i were starting where you are i would fit the volvoQL system less moving parts, quicker response,no antifouling regards mm1

I endorse the QL systen BUT have added circular anodes to each - and they do slowly wear away, therefore justified. There's a newer all-electric version but the old hydraulic pump has performed well and is only now about to be replaced with like.

Same as blackbess2 on My Nimbus 2600.
18X9 will be plenty for Your Orkney.
Find them handy for "levelling" the boat as well as trimming the bow.
