topping up my pump a few days ago:
thought i would be able to see the level with my snake camera, nope
can not see it by eye either, only way to check the level is with a clean finga at a reach

so just filled it up wit ha bit of hose and a funnel till it overflowed, several times :( messy

have to replace the pump, any smart ideas as to how i can see the level from a distance ?
replacing it is going to be 'fun' its stuck down a dark alley, no headroom .....

hm, been looking at new ones, recon my 20 yr old one just has a frosted oil reservoir which is why i cant see the level.

Is your ATF type G clear or red? If red stick a torch behind the reservoir. I'm a bit risky. I wedge my mobile phone with the flashlight on behind it. Not a recommendation btw, just works for me. My ATF is red so clearly visible once the light is shining.

I posted there too. Goodluck. My pump assembly has exactly that issue with the other drive (not the one I just replaced rams on) I should tackle it this year and just replace. But I never actually use drive trim so have been a bit lazy. They hold fine in beach mode which suits me for the moment.
