I have a chance to buy a 70 hp 1976 Johnson motor for a great deal. I want to put it on a heavy/wide aluminum 18 ft long flat bottom skiff. It uses a standard bolt to lock it in at a preset angle that takes some work to adjust. How important /is it necessary to have adjustable trim? I am only going to do 4 or 5 miles across open water intermittently? Pass on it or work with whats there?
