trim and tilt

hi every1 im new to all this so please bear with me . there must be someone out there who can help me i have just brought a 17ft broom with a 1980 140hp outboard every thing workks great except the trim and tilt the pump works fine oh and by the way i wrk with hydraulics but its been 15 years since i had a boat what is missing is the bung which is held in with a circlip its driving me mad bill highman at higham marine has been great but there is also no manual release!! someone please help i want to be sking this summer!!!!!

are you talking about the bung in the back of the transom or some sort of plug to release pressure from the trim cylinder????

hi thanx for getting bk to me im talking about some sort of bung that is missing that goes in the actual trim and tilt motor and is held in with a circlip

The best thing to do is identify what make and model the outboard is and get the manual for it.

At the very least post on here the make and model and you may well get some informed help.
