As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first Marcon Trident 24 to be launched I am trying locate some of the Tridents that made names for themselves in the past by undertaking exceptional cruises.
No 38 was cruised singlehanded by David Young, her retired owner, for some 10,000 miles between 1973 and 1980 - principally around the Irish Sea and Scotland. He twice rounded Cape Wrath and returned to his Morecambe Bay base (Knott End-on-Sea) via the Caledonian Canal. His logs have survived but the fate of the boat is unknown.
Serenata was last heard of on the River Wyre. But there were rumours in 2007 that she had been driven ashore at Morecambe and damaged but was being restored - possibly in the Fleetwood area.
Does anyone know the whereabouts of Serenata or (since names change) a damaged or repaired Trident in the North West that might be her?
