I have had a "want" out on ebay for years for one of these clever devices, but without success.
The other tri lens thread made me think that 3D printing with metallised plastic would be an appropriate and more up to date technology to produce a modern version, perhaps with improved fixings ?
There is a lot of current interest in Luneberg lenses in the commercial and defence world, so the principles must be pretty sound.
