Seajet
...
I have just been kindly loaned this book by a chum; while not available new as far as I know, I would recommend it to anyone interested in sailing.
The book descibes his building ' Trekka ' at the back of a fish and chip shop in Canada, then setting off for warmer climes and his experiences and people met on his circumnavigation.
The author John Guzwell was a supreme sailor, with a very modest, understated but highly enjoyable style of writing; he was of course along with Miles and Beryl Smeeton on ' Tzu Hang ' ( see their classic book ' Once is Enough ' ) when she was pitchpoled off Cape Horn, and though he doesn't mention it J.G.'s woodworking skills probably saved them all.
Brilliant stuff from a bygone age, try Abe books or Amazon !
