I've read all the posts on Treadmaster paint, which seems to get a good press. But has anyone used it to lighten the original colour - a lot. On our new boat there is a lot of dark grey Tm - we don't like the look of it plus it will be hot. Would white Tm paint actually cover the grey, does anyone know?
Cheers.

I didn't think they did a Treadcoat (Treadmaster paint) in white. In any case I don't think your idea would work very well as Treadcote isn't very dense or opaque and I think the underlying colour would show through. You could paint your treadmaster with several coats of Blakes white epoxy primer. This penetrates and adheres very well to old treadmaster. You could then finish with white deck paint.

If you go white, you may trade blistered feet for boiling eyeballs... If you're in a part of the world that makes the cockpit or deck too hot to walk(sit!) on, you will undoubtedly be dazzled by white. Better to have something in-between. If you mix paints, take known quantities, (ie a big can of light and a wee can of dark) so the colour is repeatable when/if required
