Treadmaster adhesive.

Doubt it - they don't sell anything with any real strength.

Treadmaster is a very specific product and adhesive and false economy not to use the right stuff if you want it to stay stuck down.

It's a 2-part epoxy adhesive, and probably as good a price as any other you will find (do check the company's own website - was cheaper than anywhere else when I bought some).

It is a pity that they don't seem to sell it in really small quantities, so for a square foot or so I would be tempted to use any cheap ordinary epoxy glue.

I have used sikaflex before with no problems and I will be using it again on my new steel epoxy painted decked yacht. The flexibility of sikaflex gives a much better bond than epoxy IMHO

we used sikaflex, never came off, never bubbled and still using it in the med; better than any of the other glues we tried.
best luck.

I have 11 sheet to glue down and am considering exterior polyurethane adhesive cartridges as used for deck/balcony construction. Used in construction for glue for exposed areas including wet and icy conditions.

For either epoxy or polyurethane exterior adhesive it would be essential to use a glue spreader as used for laying ceramic tiles, making sure the glue is at a uniform depth.

Was it that long ago and it is still stuck like - well you know what it like

Thanks for your replies. I've only been a member since February when I got my first yacht, a Hurley 22 and every time I've made a query the forum never lets me down. Thanks again.

I too went for a contact adhesive but used Thixofix as it allows a little swivelling to position it. Only 3 years but no sign of lifting.

I used contact adhesive too as it was so much easier. Only been down six months so will have to see.

I've got the old matting chiselled off after much trouble, and am now going to sand it smoother. Should I take it right back to the gloss or leave a micro film of old adhesive for grip? I should say that I am only doing cockpit seats and three hatches.
