The local RYA representative came to Woodbridge Cruising Club last week to give us a talk re the new Sunk buoyage system that was put in place last summer.
The negotiation & history to the new system was interesting but he did answer the following point. He said that technically us yachties do not have to abide by the roundabout system, however it would be foolish to get too near the roundabout & obviously normal Col Regs apply.
Going to/ from Belgium/South Holland a path(my normal one) via Medusa/NE Gunfleet/LongSandHead/SGalloper will keep you well clear of the Roundabout & avoid the separation zones as well. This advice came with the usual caveats re your own responsibility for safe navigation etc.& keeping a good lookout.
