I'm trying to find a 'mobile' shipwright for several weeks in the New Year to sort out some problem areas in 50ft dbl/diag hull. It's a South Coast location - near Brighton - and local talent seems a bit thin on the ground. I'd be happy to pay B+B Monday/Friday, if someone would commit to the job, but I don't know where to look. Does anyone have any useful recommendations? I can't move the boat to a suitable yard because the engines are out – so I'd be much obliged for any suggestions. Thanks!

Hans Kahl, did a lot of very excellent work for me at very reasonable rates.

He is an excellent one stop shop . He has a mechanical and electrical engineering background, but for some time ran his own fibre glass moulding company specializing in side cars and trailers for suprebikes like Honda Goldwings where exact paint matching was vital, so can also do paint and fibre glass work.

He also completely panelled out and restored the interior woodwork of Lizzie B and did an immaculate job for a quarter of the price that Moody's or Gosport Boatyard wanted. So I can vouch for his carpentry.

He is prepared to put his life on his shipwrighting skills as he recently returned from sailing his restored boat from Chicago, through the Great Lakes, down the East Coast of the USA and home to Gosport via the Azores - some 10,000 plus miles in total, all but 2,400 of it single handed.

If you would like further info PM me for details.
