As a recent purchaser of my first boat, I find my enthusiasm often outstripping my knowledge for sourcing repairs/replacements. Could I tap into the extensive experience of this forum for help with the following? The boat has a Kemp Masts through-mast roller boom reefing system. The rear end of the boom rotates in a cast alloy bearing on the circumference of which are cast a single loop for the topping lift and a triple loop on the opposite side for the main sheet. Presumably due to age (probably 25 years) the topping lift loop has snapped off and the middle loop has worn half way through. Can this damage be repaired, or where could I obtain a replacement casting? Any suggestions or contacts gratefully received. I live in Bristol. Thanks in advance.

You maybe able to find someone to alloy weld it. Particularly if you have the missing bits. Try looking on
Yell.com for alluminium welders. I had some success with having the toe welded back onto the plug that
fits inside the spreader on my boat. It cost £10.
