transporting my folkboat

Hi there
I've just bought a folkboat for a project and need it transporting/trailering nearer my home. can anyone suggest/advise me or recommend a haulier. Also according to CB238 some hauliers do "return loads", !!. Any help/suggestions will be greatly received.

Sorry. I know someone in Lymington with a Folkboat which he moves by road twice a year, but that's too far away.
There have been some threads recently on this subject, but the search facility is so crap now that it's hard to find them.

Do you have (or have access to) a vehicle suitable for towing? Folkboat + trailer is approx 3.5 tonnes.

I used Peter Downes. He is based in Essex, and has a self loader for small (less than 7 tons) boats. so you can avoid a crane at the barn/home end. Here

he can lift onto & off of his lo-loader

Debbages have outsourced to Peter Downs. Peter did Roach last summer in the self-loader in about a foot of mud last summer (monsoon). He knows his stuff.
