Good day, captain,

My transducer always losts the depth reading when my boat is faster than 9 knots. After carefully inspection, I
found that the transducer is just lined up the the "waster pumpout". So no matter how I adjust the angle, the turbulance caused by the pumpout still causes problem.

Please refer to the drawings:
back.PNG
side.PNG

The waste pumpout are number 3 and 4 on the drawing.

Other than the pumpouts, there are 2 chines which I should avoid.
I understand that speed can cause the problem, but just 9 knots is too ridiculous.
Would you please provide me some suggestion? Thank you very much for your help.

I would buy an internal transducer ( one that sits in a liquid bath).

You can temporarily position it in the hull. Not work ... move it ... until you find somewhere that works then glue it in.

Some dont like the internal ones - so if nothing else you then know where you can drill the hole!

I would 2nd an internal.

However to avoid drilling too many screw holes in the transom as you search for an ideal spot I'd mount the transducer to a broom handle or similar and get a 2nd person to move it along the transom while you are on the plane until you get a solid reading.

Thank you very much for suggestions, captains.

Yes, my boat is with outboard.

If I move the transducer to the port side, will that work? All the information says the port side will be influenced by the propeller, but I still
see some pictures on the internet that show the left-mounted transducer. Why is that?
