transom height.. short or long shaft

ive mesured the transome from the top to the bottom of my dinghy and its 420mm. do i need a standard shaft or a long shaft.

i was hoping so. my transom is 16.and half ins and standard said 15- 16. regards nick

i was looking at a mariner 2.5hp but it says suitable for transom of 381 mm or 15inch. will this too short for my dinghy...

Well if you can't get it on the plane you could always cut an inch U out of the top of the transom /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
