We're joining a marina which is in the TransEurope association, we looked at the list of marinas and their idea is they are all within a day sail of each other and you get 50% off short stays at other marinas in the group. I saw that there are one or two in the Solent/Poole, also Beaulieu river, Dover and Tollesbury so it's good for an east Coast to Solent cruise.

Has anyone used the scheme and have you had any problems getting your discount at the marinas? http://www.transeuropemarinas.com/

We used it a few times when we were at Universal. Buckler's Hard do the discount, as well as Royal Clarence in Portsmouth. Makes overnight stays relatively cheap, although I wasn't a massive fan of Royal Clarence as it's so far away from the ferry.
No problem getting the discount, although some of the staff struggled to discount 50%!

It is the boat's name that is on the card.

Have used it several times. Just take the card that your own marina gives you as evidence, and some will ask for it, some are more relaxed. Never had any hastle.

I've used it at Tollesbury and Dover sailing out if Fambridge on several occasions.

no hassle, no problem, significant saving!

make sure your marina gives you an up to date card at the start of the season, no problems thereafter

Thanks everyone, that sounds good. I was a bit worried that it was one of those 50% offers but you have to buy 50l of fuel or two main courses in the marina bar!

I used it once. No problem getting the discount on 5 nights: just showed the card and done! The only problem was that I wanted to stay 10 nights, twice, so it was still expensive. But not quite as expensive as it would have been. If you're cruising and can use a few nights in lots of different places, it could be a big saving.

Ive used it at Bucklers Hard, Royal Clarence Portsmouth and Mayflower Plymouth with no issues. For the Solent sailors Southampton Town quay is also in the scheme (behind the Red Jet).
