TransEuropa Ferries - Ostend/Ramsgate

Ostend Spirit (formerly Pride of Ostend P&O) came up the Thames last week and is layed up in Tilbury dock (where she was before renaming). She is now red and white instead of blue.

Red jam but no countries, we calls them currants where I'm from. Oh, and I think the jam's from the donuts not the Belgian buns. Should be fine though, this navvygating lark can't be that difficult, just keep a lookout for signs to Oostende

There has been an upgrade - West Hinder buoy now has one of these nailed to it.

Agree, if Naval Officers can do it how can it be that hard

One solution is when you get wherever you get to, go ashore and buy a bun from the bakers, then you can read where you are from the address on the bag.

Tried that a few years ago. Left Wells in the early hours and by late afternoon it was time to head in. Found a place that looked a bit ruff but went in anyway. All speaking totally furrin lingo on arrival so went ashore and got some chippings and fishings. Label said GtYarmouth so figured I must be in some continental place. Headed out the following morning and turned right. Pulled in later that day at some place called EMersea. Greeted by gizafiver from some bloke in an ickle boat so figured best head out and try to find Engerland again. Some place in Suffolkiashire was next, still no understand the lingo but at least they only grunted instead of shouting

Anyhoo, I thought those two bladed windy things were there to show which way was home and which way you were going, they never seem to show much different
