transducer noise

hi , tied the boat up turned off engine , ah peace and quiet , click click click !!! thought i had a short in boat wiring ,it sounded like sparking against something . Any way tracked it back to the transducer on the hull . I cant ever recall hearing it before , it still works , could water have got in it ? is it just one of those noises you "don t hear " til you do !! ( if you know what i mean ) i also put my hand in the water and could feel the thing pulse ! ( engine off of coarse ) never paid any attention to it before , anyone got any answers ? cheers folks

Quite normal.... Interestingly I have just renewed my transducer (and fish-finder) and the new unit is quite a bit more powerful than the last and it is a lot nosier... and yes a click click click noise, fairly faint but its there if you listen.
