Anyone Know if Transas Nautic part of the Russian Transas Group, and makers of Tsunamis99/navigator are still around??
The web site doesnt seem to exist now and there are no links to leisure Navigation Software from the Parent company website that I can find..whereas there used to be.
Perhaps they have become a victim of the US governments decision to release all US vector charts for free??

Steve

Is it anything to do with Lowrance and Silva ... seeing as its supposed that the LEI charting is Transas ??

I might be wrong on this but the leisure side ceased operations but the products can still be got hold of via a company set up for just this sector. Run by a guy called james I think.
Contact details are:

Let me know whther you have any luck - I'm about to order some more permit codes so it'd be nice to know!

They can run but they cannot hide.
Typical case of management incompetence. Suggest they take one of those courses in:
Customer relationship management. But I guess they have taken the course in:
How can I get rid of my customers in no time and maximise shareholder loss.
Their website was up on Friday and they were even taking support emails. No hint of change. After the weekend Pooofff. Gone.
Not impressed. Glad I did not order my full update as intended.

The office now seem to be based in Germany. A new version with this years tides and current module can be downloaded from www.transas.de (provided you can spreken ze deutsch!). Apparantly a new English homepage is currently being developed.
Cheers

Dunno Nigel, probably not.
The international Leisure side was previously run from Transas Dataco in Cork..but doesnt seem to exist now..at least on the web anyway.
Even the American Transas Nautic Portal has no Eshop only a "Get Folio" access.
It seems the Russian parent is moving more and more away from charting and into specialist niches, specifically now very big in ECDIS and VTS training simulators.
I was just looking to see if AIS and Marpa was implemented in their latest versions.
Looked on the German site and found the info..but their online shop doesnt work...strange eh??

Steve.

PS Ive got a Demo of what will be Maptech Chart Navigator Pro..found a few glitches in it like it doesnt display tides and currents from the latest BSB4 BACD's
Otherwise quite nice..a display not unlike CMECS with datboxes on the right.
I might even buy this....
They will need to resolve the cost of S57 charts though...otherwise I'tll be raster only and hardly worth it.
No good for you though..it hasnt got an anchor alarm sadly.
