Hello - having been in the Caribbean for 18 months its now time to come home and I am considering Yacht Transport services rather than sailing back in May - the boat is currently in Antigua

I am talking to Peters & May and also Yacht Shipping Ltd (who use SevenStar Yacht Transport) and they both quote "reasonable" prices - better price from YSL out of St Thomas rather than either out of St Johns

Does anyone have any experience of such services and any practical advice on what to consider and watch out for ?

I understand both the above companies use an onboard hoist and provide welded to deck cradle services with mast up or down - as preferred

Thanks

We had to ship ours back we had set off to cross the Atlantic and 50nms out the furling gear packed up. By the time a new one was fitted it was too late to leave again. Mast down was required, two in our case a ketch. Check if that is the case with the company you intend to use. You are right about the welded deck cradle.
