Trans-Atlantic singlehanded advive please

Hop you can give me any tips for singlehandded sailing, I plan to cross the Atlantic to the UK from the US in July.

I have little experience of singlehanded sailing and am unsure how singlehanders deal with finding rest between manning the helm & keeping watch & the numerous other things to do.

I am also concerned about the route in which to take, I had planned a Great Circle route from around NYC but this follows busy shipping lanes.

any advice would be most welcome

With only little experience of single handing then that’s not the sort of trip to start learning on!
You don’t say if you have an auto steering system, but that’s your starter for 10.
