Rather than purchase a special trailer, consider a standard box trailer and make a cradle for your mirror. This has the advantage of miliple use for the trailer and the cradle will provide good support for rigging or storage.
Happy sailing.......Old Salt.
Where are you?
What condition are you prepared to accept?
Reason - my dinghy club will be closing down and we have a numebr of unclaimed trailors that we will be selling off cheap - there are a couple that are balanced for 12ft boats ( Solo's ) but are missing mast step and mudguards etc.
One of these might suit your needs.
We are in the midlands.
John,
I live in NW Leicestershire and am very keen to get the Mirror afloat to teach my children to sail.
I had tried roofracking the Mirror but found the process very lengthy.
A lack of mudguards etc. are no problem.
I would be grateful if you could contact me at Peter.ager@lineone.net.
regards
Peter
Thanks for the idea.
I would quite like a dinghy trailer because I will be sailing with a 6 and 7 year old and I think the dinghy trailer will make it easier, however if one is not available the box idea will be an ideal solution.
Thanks for the response,
Peter
John,
Many thanks for your reply, I'm sorry not to have replied earlier, i did not realise that it is possible to reply directly.
I am very sorry to hear about your club closing down, have you managed to find another location to sail in?
I am looking for a trailer for the Mirror so that I can teach my youngsters to sail.
The actual fittings on the trailer are not a problem and I am more than happy to pay for it. The reason for the request is that I cannot afford a new one, having bought the Mirror with the intention of roof racking it (not very easy).
I live in Ashby de la Zouch but have no concerns about travelling to collect it... if the offer is still open?
Again, thank you for the response.
regards
