I am a woodworker who lives not far from the sea in the south of France. I am minded to build or buy/restore a traditional open boat of the region, 18ft or thereabouts, motor powered. I have so far found no sites that feature such boats or plans for such boats. Does anyone on the forum have suggestions here? A good book would be a good start.

All thoughts welcome

I suspect that there probably aren't any actual plans for these traditional boats, just centuries of tradition.

Two sites spring to mind.

1 The Musee de Peche in Concarneau has a selection of plans of small and large fishing boats.

2 Rochefort, where they are building the MOST delicious frigate "Hermione" has an excellent library of traditional books

There a woodworking training school associated with the yard. Maybe a useful lead ?
