We love our Prestige 32, 2008 model with great spec, but we want more space as we are using the boat year round.

Looking at used late model flybridge boats in the 42 foot range. Feel like the best options are Princess 42, Sealine F42/5 and the Jeanneau Prestige 42. We would love to get forum views on these boat, pluses and minuses. Leaning toward P42 at this point.

Want to sell our boat before a purchase, and right now there are only a limited number late model P32's in the market...so we are hoping for a quick sale. Not looking forward to the depreciation hit, but hopefully soft pricing also helps us with the total change cost.

Thanks

if you can go to the p46 you get that bit more than the p42 depends how much space, room you want and it does what it says on the tin but its all own to cost to change

Yes I think the p46 is a great value for money boat. But i did not like what I read on here earlier regarding the heavy steering and feel. Put me off a bit.

We have looked at the p46 several times and although it has a large amount of space, we don't like the layout. I would also prefer something a bit more nimble as we are in Sparkes which is a bit of a challenge maneuvering.

I like the Sealine 42/5 and the Princess 42, Both great boats in a confined space as they handle well, I have done a lot of training on the 42/5 and realy like them. I have not played with the Jeanneau Prestige 42,

An option for you,
Fairline Southampton have now got a brokerage and are looking for more boats to sell, mite be worth giving them a call,

I`ve expressed my delight with both the Princess 42 and also the dealer network on here before so certainly I`d rate it as first choice. Having owned one for over a year now there is very little if anything I`d change and the machinery installation is lovely.

I had a look at the Prestige 42 this year when we went to Excel and it wouldn`t be a boat for me but you`ll no doubt make your own mind up. Certainly don`t feel pressured into brand loyalty already owning a Prestige. We`d been Fairline owners for probably a decade and initially assumed we`d be sticking with the brand but in the end used our eyes and bought the best package we could find which brought us over to Princess.

I think there are some good deals around at the moment with the 42 via the main dealers but I`m going to be a bit controversial and suggest you don`t drag your heels. In our business (Porsche specialist) we`ve seen very healthy sales, so much so that supply is a massive issue at the moment. Those hoping to bag a fire sale bargain have missed the boat (pardon the pun). I suspect the boat world will follow suit all be it with a slight time delay.

Anyway, good luck with your search. Swanwick marina were very accommodating in allowing us to view boats and I`m sure you will / would find them the same.

Yep, the sale of mine completed at the beginning of last week. If you're after a 2 cabin f/b in the forty foot class then I think the P42 is the best of the bunch. (I bought mine to see what f/b boating was all about; I realised it wasn't for me, which is why I sold it).

Cheers
Jimmy

Thanks everyone. Looks like Princess 42 is our first choice...now just have to sell the Prestige 32. Wish me luck.

Good Luck Tom! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Don't forget to look at Princess and Phantom 40s' too, nice boats and good sea keeping when the going gets a little 'bumpy'. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
