Trader 42 - This months MBM

It is such a shame Tony Chapple is such a tosser.
I really like the look of the Trader 42 reviewed in this months mag. I like the traditional, but updated styling, the staterooms at either end of the boat, the third cabin option and the flexible helm.

Ok, so you have to shower when driving one but over all it looks like a really nice, well thought out boat. It is just a shame that the company in control can't be trusted to actually deliver...

Though spray getting that far back and high seems crazy.

Too much money for a Taiwanese boat.

You should see the prices you can get equal quality boats for in Asia.

I reckon I could have that made for HALF. Then again, I have no VAT.

40% tax, 17.5% VAT, 40% inheritence tax (THAT ONE REALLY PISSES ME OFF). All for what? Big changes will be coming in the UK in the next 15 years. I hope so at least, otherwise any spirit will have been sucked out of our children.

It isn't inheritance tax. Otherwise it would be dependant on how your estate was divided, with only large beneficiaries being taxed.

No, sorry, it is a tax on you for dying. Quite simply it is Death Tax. They should at least have the balls to call it that.

I thought it looked nice too, but the spray problem and crap performance would put me off, a Broom 42 is a genuine 30kt boat with the same size engines.

There must be a design fault somewhere for all that spray so far up i wouldnt want to helm for a long sea voyage absolute garbage

Actually the part of your income tax called NI is 21%, its just 10% is arbitrarily called employers NI as if it somehow doesn't affect what you get paid /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The spray issue was just like the old 41+2 which the 42 replaces. A mate of mine had one and I always used to laugh when he donned waterproofs to helm from the flybridge every time he went out however calm the sea
I agree though. It does look a nice boat but, as you say, you could'nt trust Trader to fix it

praps a desirable thing in a sporty car, but ohh too much spray.

New one looks like a rip off of an Atlantic 42 or the Broom 42, both quality engineered and reliable boats.
