After 3 months of tracking this down I have finally managed to find the REAL part number (TPPK32) for the little plastic end on the push rod that clips to the pin in the tiller. Mine has worn a bit and keeps poping out. But it doesn't stop there - I now have to order 5 of them !

It's OK, I have calmed down a bit now.

So, does anybody wish to purchase the remaining ones from me at cost plus postage. In fact, I'm so pi**ed of at the stupidity of the situation, unless they are silly prices I will send them to you for a donation to the RNLI plus postage.

PM if you are interested

I sympathise, these companies really do not deserve our business, there are plenty of others who would send such a trivial bit free of charge, but whats the option. Is there really no way you can repair the old one, perhaps by filling the old hole with epoxy and redrilling so that the pin is a good tight fit?

Yeah, it relies on the type of plastic to deform and "clip in " I tried to deform the outer moulding with a hot knife attachment which got me home but, when beating into a F5 I need to be sure it will stay there!

In Bayona a few years ago, the shear pin on the bowthruster sheared, (which was good), but we didnt have a spare. Finally got a pack of 5 delivered to Madeira. Attached the pack, 9with 4 in it), to the bowthruster.

A few weeks ago, mooring in Lagos, the bowthruster gave up again. Fortunately, as we had some spare shear pins, it was fixed in about half an hour.

I'd probably keep them... just in case?

Cheers

Richard
