Towing question

All things need to be considered as above.... length of journey ... frequency etc and braked is the tow the line way to go (excuse the pun) but if you are including the weight of the engine in your calculation the way around it is to carry your outboard in the car reducing your tow load below the 750.

If the boat alone is 800 Kg I doubt if removing the outboard will reduce the trailer plus boat weight to below 750Kg.

The only safe and legal answer is to get a braked trailer. Unless the entire journey is on private roads of course.

Lakesailor is quite right. If anything happens you will effectively be uninsured as well as illegal and dangerous.

I am guessing that I was illegal when I towed my last boat home for winter!
C'est la vie
