Me and my Brother each have a 17 foot bow rider and would like to put them on the Dover to Calais ferry tow them to somewhere hot and have a couple of weeks holiday staying at a caravan or camping type site.

Any one have any suggestions of places to do this with slipways etc

Thanks

Dennis

South of France is where I took my 16' Shakespeare many years ago. Plenty of slipways dotted around along with campsites too. I went to Le Lavandou and there's a marina there too.
I rented a buoy in the bay from the pedalo guys on the beach but a mistral came through and sunk my boat after a few nights so curtailed my holiday.

Sunk your boat that is not good......... Mistral you say do you mean the wind or the naval craft. Did you recover the boat

A white Ensign attached to a type 45 Destroyer since the Brexit vote .:)
How ever that's quite difficult to get at the mo .
Suggest one of these

In this is the stuff you are expected to have ,silly things like .mirror to signal , baling bucket , fog horn , compass ,chart .
It's quite comprehensive -
They may fine you if you get " done " with out one - the book -your risk .
Other thing insurance doc , and ownership proof .VHF cert if you have one fitted .
Depends what mood they are in !

Google cavalaire sur mer. Camping

Marina has an open slip + trailer park

Pleasant typical French resort -but Great boaty area and Porqueroles islands easy reachable when calm for you .
There are two shops where you buy the book + any gear advised to go to sea , to stay out of trouble !

Yup, had it craned out with a floating barge then onto trailer. Straight to local Mercury dealer in town to first aid it (Mercury 80 hp blue band). Everything that wasn't bolted down on the boat had floated away!
Next day lost my car keys on the beach so had to have a spare set flown out....nightmare time.
Towed the boat home only to find my company car (Fiesta 1.3 Ghia woo hoo!) needed a new engine after hauling five of us and boat + luggage, Ski's wet suits etc etc flat out to SOF and back.
Happy days and at 22 yo you don't get stressed out so much with events like these.
