Tower bridge jumper

What an attention seeking little git. I'd like to see all of his social media devices put on ebay and the proceeds donated to the RNLI.

I was working on deck of a ship once, tied up just downstream of Tower Bridge, on the old General Marine moorings. Someone jumped off TB, on the ebb, and the whole area was soon criss crossed with police, PLA and other speedboats all frantically zooming around looking for him. They never found him, and I often wonder if his head was chopped up by one of their propellors.

Did you work for Peter Duggan? I 'courted' his sister Kathy waay back in about 1959-1960. Peter and his brother had pretty fearsome reputations back then somewhat akin to the Krays.

No I didn't work for Pete D but had some dealings with him, he got paid for some towage in 12 tons of gas oil, which I bought for 70 quid (it was decades ago) from a bunker barge which was being scrapped, and apparently the fuel knackered the injector pumps on one of his larger tugs. He was not happy with us, not one little bit.. I have been avoiding him since then ;)

Not all that long ago a totally fabricated story was doing the rounds that a bunker barge which was heading abroad to be scrapped or have its tanks cleaned disposed of the tank residue by other than actually paying for it to be disposed of by a reputable company.
It was alleged that, for weeks afterwards, boats on one particular unamed waterway were grinding to halt due to blocked filters and worse.
Total hearsay of course and would not want it repeated by anybody. Best kept quiet please:).
