Went out at the weekend with 3 friends in my 17 foot Fletcher Bow Rider and had great fun towing my friends on a Jobe donut inflatable. I was wondering what people here tow for fun and what people think are the most fun. I have been looking at the Jobe Hydra ?

It depends on the age of the rider. For younger kids (and old fogies) the sofa type are great, like the Jobe Binar, as they're the most comfortable to be on. For older teenagers and younger adults you need something a bit more exhilarating, and I think the flat disc type are good, though of course I haven't tried every towable. The rider lies face down, and the boat driver can swing them round the corners at ever faster speed whilst the rider shifts their weight around trying to stay on until the wind catches under the disc and flips the rider off. There is some technique, and therefore some sport to it, especially if the rider is only allowed to use one handle at any time. You can also do this on large donuts, in fact we always used lorry inner tubes which have the added advantage of not having any handles. The Jobe Hydra looks OK, but looks a bit easy to stay on, although I've never tried one.

edit: when towing fast and trying to unseat the rider I would only have a one person towable, to avoid injuries from clashing heads etc.

Yup I agree with Nick. The jobe sofas are great for somewhat relaxed towing and also as sunbathing toys - Jobe Binar, Lunar, Sonar plus the Anura series. For a white knuckle ride you can get racier toys including the Sportstuff Gyro, which is not for the fainthearted and can resemble a washing machine full of puke when the ride has ended

If the tow boat has enough power and you have multiple eager younger participants, use two or three donuts together. Set them at exactly the same distance from the boat so when they clang together on corners they just bounce off each other.
The donuts/ski biscuits are cheap to buy and together like this works well for a group thing, giving people lots of turns.
