Tourist Visa for Turkey - Confirmed E Visas only from next April

Now confirmed that from 10 April 2014 the tourist 90/180 day visa will only be available on line and have to be obtained in advance . The facility to obtain a 90/180 visa on arrival in Turkey ( the stamp) will be withdrawn.

Like most things in Turkey, there may be "some" confusion over this matter!

On the website for application of the E-visa https://www.evisa.gov.tr , in the FAQ section, in states:

Q. I could get “sticker type of visa” at the airport. I don’t want to apply for e-Visa. Can I still get “sticker type of visa” at the airport?

A. Yes. The practice of “sticker type of visa” has not changed (until further notice). (Please note that citizens of China, Afghanistan and Taiwan cannot obtain “sticker type of visa’’ on arrival)

So I am assuming the sticker visas are still available until April, or until they run out!

Thats the way I would interpret the notice .

The problem of standard responses such as referred to is that there updating tends to lag behind the announcements/legislation changes. The British Embassy site is one of the worst for this.

I'm not sure what you meant, but the website I posted is from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs! If they can't keep up, we are all going to struggle!

Yes I know but on official sites with secondary information, standard responses such as FAQ do tend to lag behind and always have done.

Its on the British Embassy Facebook page but not the main link, which is no good for people who do not do social media sites, nor I suspect on the Turkish Embassy London site.
